The pipeline and opportunities for strategic and major projects in KSA for Atkins Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) Division are significant. An opportunity exists for a driven, ambitious and self-motivated person to take a critical role in growing Atkins T&I Water Business across KSA. The successful candidate will work closely with KSA Clients of T&I in wining work in KSA for the Water sector.
 
We are currently looking for a Project Director with a minimum of 20 years’ experience in water, surface water and foul water industry or public utilities organisations in relation to the delivery of water, surface water and foul water projects.
 
The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia but will also requires working and travel throughout KSA including Western Region and Eastern Regions of KSA as and when required, sometimes at short notice.  Potential candidates must therefore be in a position to travel and work occasionally across KSA.
 
Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.
 
Atkins in the Middle East now serves Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.

Responsibilities
  • Part of a multi functional team responsible for delivering a large number of varied projects in accordance with the client’s requirements.
  • Overall construction management as part of a client team with particular emphasis on logistics and handover.
  • Complete review of existing operations within the client organisation, assessing both the strengths and weaknesses and compiling reports for presentation to the client.
  • Chair weekly/ monthly progress meetings.
  • Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximise opportunities.


Requirements
  • Degree qualified: Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related field;
  • minimum of 20 years’ experience in water, surface water and foul water industry or public utilities organisations in relation to the delivery of water, surface water and foul water projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience of managing teams
  • Previous experience in the European Water industry is required
  • Professional membership preferred
  • Construction management background and capable of reviewing existing operations within an organisation through all the project phases however with a particular emphasis on the final handover phase of a project.
  • Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures both within projects, with clients and internally.
  • The successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
