Senior Cost Manager
Our Houston team is growing! If you want to be a part of a successful global organization and have at least 2 years of experience as a quantity surveyor on large projects preferably in the oil and gas sector, we would like to connect with you.This position involves, under supervision, develops professional proficiency in the delivery of quantity surveying services. Supports senior quantity surveyors by performing fundamental tasks as required by each project, including contract administration, cost forecasting, procurement, quantity takeoffs, pricing and data entry.

Responsibilities
-Provides direct support and advice to Project Managers in the planning and execution of pre-award and post-award contract administration actions.
- Administers Faithful+Gould’s GSA Schedules and GSA Schedule contracts.
- Provides direct support and advice to Project Managers on subcontract procurement activities to include vendor solicitation, vendor audits for price and quality, and preparation of sole source selection justification.
- Ensures all contract documentation is complete and accessible in company repository. This includes the contracts and all pertinent sign off documentation and work papers.
- Performs compliance reviews of consulting agreements to include nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements and joint venture agreements.
- Coordinates with Project Managers to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled and compliance requirements are completed.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices.
- Participates in special projects.
- Supports the preparation and issuance of periodic cost reports.
- May input PO, orders and invoices into the cost report where applicable.
- Supports in the preparation of a cash flow with the cost report, and issues to client’s finance/construction team.
- Prepares and routinely monitors a change order log.
- Supports the review of change orders in accordance with the client’s approval process.
- Reviews and monitors all the invoices for the project. May code the invoices where applicable and forward them to the client's account payable department.
- Supports the procurement of construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis, where applicable.
- Supports the overview of contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages, where applicable.
- Organizes and attends bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams.
- Supports the review of contractor closeout documents.
- Performs accurate quantity takeoffs as required and reviewed by senior estimating staff.
- Obtains pricing information as directed by senior estimating staff, including corresponding with contractors, vendors, suppliers, etc. to get local and up to date pricing information for projects and benchmarking.
- Inputs quantity takeoffs into estimating programs such as CATO, EXCEL, etc. under the supervision of senior estimating staff.
- Maintains project documents such as drawings and specifications.
- Establishes and assists in maintaining data library of cost
- Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
- Prepares cost reconciliations between two or more estimates, and explains variances.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus two years related experience OR an associate's degree in a related technical field plus ten years related experience in lieu of a degree OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus twelve years related experience is required
-Strong math and trigonometry computation skills.
-Technical writing, communication skills, and analytical ability.
Good knowledge of CAD and survey software. Basic knowledge of GPS
-SIT required. Current incumbents (as of July 2011) without LSIT are required to obtain registration within one year
