Quantity Surveyor - Saudi National

AtkinsRéalis has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 15 years’ experience. Candidates having relevant project experience with HVDC, power systems, transmission & distribution lines, substations, and power stations are preferred. The role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

Working in collaboration with the project team to prepare the following deliverables / provide the following services (non-exhaustive list):

• Reviewing plans and preparing quantity requirements.

• Reviewing contractor's work progress invoices and certification.

• Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.

• Liaising with the design team, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

• Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.

• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.

• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders and advising them on improvements and new strategies.

• Ensure interdisciplinary coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, or similar.

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, in post-contract activities, with a focus on cost planning and estimation of EHV Transmission projects or HVDC projects. Also, related to power systems, transmission & distribution lines, HVDC, substations, and power station projects.

• Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous.

• Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results.

• Team player with great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Client-focused, highly autonomous, and able to work under pressure.

• Comprehensive understanding of power system fundamentals.

• Knowledge or experience in HVDC, FACTS, or HV Cables, an asset.

• Proficiency in the following (or similar) software tools, an asset:  AUTOCAD, ETAP, Primavera P6

• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.

• Great networking abilities. Fluency in English language, both spoken and written. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
