Roles and Responsibilities.

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across all project phases by managing safety and environmental aspects. This role involves the execution of health, safety, and environmental protocols in strict adherence to relevant regulations and standards, fostering a culture of safety, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. Acting as the client’s representative, the HSE Manager plays a crucial role in meeting project safety objectives and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Liaison and Representation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and project stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Ensure clear communication and fulfilment of the client's HSE requirements and objectives.
  • Safety Plan Management.
  • Review, approve, and monitor the contractor’s safety management plan for compliance and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and endorse any modifications to the safety management plan during the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance and Risk Audits.
  • Assess safety plans, SOPs, and PTW documents for regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of high-risk activities to ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Incident Management and Corrective Actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending and overseeing corrective actions.
  • Maintain stop-work authority for activities that pose immediate dangers or violate safety protocols.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication.
  • Facilitate and provide guidance during safety meetings, including pre-job briefings and safety stand-downs.
  • Communicate project safety expectations and ensure compliance among all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the client's EHS team, contractors, and other stakeholders on safety-related issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and related communications.
  • Prepare and submit regular safety performance reports to project stakeholders and relevant authorities.
  • Recommend key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate and enhance the contractor's safety program.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in safety and health or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in project/construction safety management, risk assessment, and accident prevention.
  • Familiarity with local safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Deployment: On Site.
  • Project Location: Marathahalli, Bangalore (or project-specific location).
