How will you contribute to the team?


The SCADA EIT will report to the SCADA Team Lead and will be responsible for developing and integrating SCADA, PLC, and HMI solutions for our clients. The SCADA EIT is to support the Project Manager with fulfilling the needs of our clients by providing timely, precise, appropriate, and thorough service.

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Automation and SCADA designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations.
  • Preparation of SCADA and control system architecture and designs.
  • Integration of various technologies.
  • Design and integrate Ethernet and serial data networks.
  • Preparation of panel layouts, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Programming of automation, HMI, PLC, IEDs, ION meters, and RTU devices.
  • Lab-testing and commissioning of devices and SCADA network on site.
  • Perform site visits and commissioning support.
  • Represent the Company at project design and construction meetings.
  • Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and client’s standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.

What will you contribute?

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with EGBC.
  • Must have 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous design work experience in T&D and or Generation sector is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of electricity, electronics, IT, and computers.
  • Familiarity with the SCADA and Automation systems/equipment including the following:
    • SEL Automation Controllers (RTAC, DPAC, Gateway)
    • SEL Applications (AcSELerator RTAC, QuickSet, Diagram Builder)
    • GE RTUs: D25/D20/D400 and I/O Modules
    • GE Applications: ConfigPro and SGConfig
    • Schneider PLCs; Modicon
    • Proface HMI & GP-Pro EX Application
    • ASAT DAPStudio HMI Application
    • Survalent HMI Application
  • Familiarity with Industrial Communication Protocols and Standards, including:
    • DNP3
    • MODBUS
    • IEC 61850, 61131-3
    • NERC-CIP
  • Experience in a consulting environment is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with typical electrical designs for power system, Protection & Control, PLCs, communications, networking and IT is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Must have a good attitude and good work ethic.
