We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Scientist/Ecologist to join our EcoSciences team in Austin, TX. If you have the desire to solve challenges on a variety of infrastructure projects across Texas and elsewhere, this position might be for you. We routinely work on roadway, coastal, and municipal projects. The Scientist/Ecologist will provide technical support in delivering this portfolio of projects. This role will support projects focused within Texas; however, may support projects across the U.S. (if willing to travel!).  

How will you contribute to the team?

• Perform various field surveys (waters of the U.S. delineations, T&E habitat assessments, mitigation monitoring, environmental construction inspection).
• Prepare technical reports and permit applications.
• Assist in various research tasks and keep up to date on federal/state regulations.

What will you contribute?

• B.S./B.A. or M.S. in a field of natural resources science; M.S. or graduate level coursework preferred but not required.
• Typical incumbent has two to five years' experience in environmental consulting.
• Proven analytical skills, technical writing, computer and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability.
• Knowledge of GPS and GIS.
• Direct experience and knowledge across several Texas ecoregions and be willing to work independently and occasionally remotely from the office.
• TxDOT NEPA experience.
• Experience working with the U.S. Corps of Engineers Ft. Worth and Galveston Districts strongly desired, experience with other Districts a definite plus.
• Ability to work in inhospitable outdoor climates of Texas and the Gulf Coast during all seasons.
• Travel will be required (~10-20%).
• Flexible work schedule with an expectation to be in office at least two days a week and potential for increased flexibility depending on proximity to local office.
