Role Purpose:

The primary purpose of the role is to apply detailed knowledge, analysis and management in the design of multiple iconic assets, with associated infrastructure and public realm elements. This will include package and elemental interface co-ordination.

Our PMC contract involves oversight of external LDCs, including appropriate specialist SME consultancy support, who will be responsible for preparing scope, specification, budget and code compliant design solutions, fully aligned to the NEOM Programme / Project development requirements and constraints.

The Senior Design Manager is a key participant in the team, who is charged with ensuring that design are robust, co-ordinated and complete, produced in a timely manner to maintain schedule and critical milestones and can be constructed within defined budget constraints in line with the agreed construction contract period.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion health, safety, welfare of design management staff and consultants
  • Collaborate with LDC and design managers of all disciplines and workstreams
  • Collaborate with interface managers and stakeholder managers
  • Collaborate with project controls staff
  • Manage implementation of Safety in Design procedures by consultants applicable to all design services
  • Manage implementation of Design to Budget procedures by consultants providing any design services
  • Manage implementation of NEOM procedures for design development and design delivery by consultants on Asset(s) design services
  • Assist in preparing scopes of service for any design works used in RFPs and Service Orders
  • Support development of tender documents for use in tendering processes (consultancies; contractors; design/build contractors; others)
  • Contribute to review of design works deliverables received from consultants
  • Manage the design review process including engagement with Consultant, Projects, Proponent and Sector staff
  • Manage the technical delivery of design works services by any design consultants
  • Contribute to overall reporting of progress vs. programme of consultants’ services
  • Contribute to overall reporting on cost vs. contract value of consultants’ services
  • Manage the coordination of Asset Design Works schedules, with procurement and construction schedules
  • Contribute to the management of risk within remit (individual consultancies; broader design development and impact on overall programme)
