Atkins has been providing infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the United States for more than 50 years.
Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Austin, TX Transportation Planning Group as a Senior Planner II.
Major Function Role:
Under direction, provides the expertise of a seasoned planner, applying advanced concepts and techniques to unconventional problems. May function as individual contributor or technical specialist. Work may involve land utilization, urban planning, transportation or environmental projects.
Job Duties:
Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of planning principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field. Master's or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This level may be achieved by Planners with seven years’ experience since Bachelor's or six years since Master's. Typical incumbent has 8-10 years' experience.
Special Skills:
Proven technical writing and communications skills. May be eligible for project management training.
