Responsibilities:

  • Create content that matches creative directors' short- and long-term vision
  • Create compelling and original show concepts that align with the project's theme, narrative, and target audience, ensuring that the concepts are fresh, engaging, and reflective of the overall project vision.
  • Develop story frameworks that are scalable and implementable
  • Create story components like drawings, sketches, art, maps etc.
  • Use a combination of sketches, storyboards, mood boards, and other visual tools to effectively communicate and present show concepts, conveying the intended look, feel, and emotional impact of the proposed experience.
  • Pay attention to detail in the conceptualization of show elements, including set design, lighting, sound, special effects, and interactive components, to create a cohesive and immersive experience that resonates with guests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including writers, directors, designers, and technical experts, to refine and develop show concepts, incorporating feedback and ideas from different perspectives to enhance the creative vision.
  • Design environments for attractions
  • Create/direct key-art capturing the emotional beats of the show
  • Construct digital concepts with guest experience and creative intent
  • Produce design proposals
  • Creates mood boards, storyboards, visual models, sketches, concept art, etc.
  • Consider system specifications in concept designs
  • Work with creative teams to create cohesive art and functional scene aspects
  • Lead projects and produce resources for other artists
  • Develop, organize, high-quality design packages that articulate the project’s creative design intent, demonstrates creative, artistic, and illustration abilities, and integrates details the various show elements of an attraction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture or Fine Arts, Illustration, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 8+ years) in concept design for themed entertainment projects, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative vision and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in digital design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, and 3D modeling software to create visual concepts and presentations.
  • Strong narrative and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail, composition, and visual communication.
