Under general direction, provides leadership and technical expertise within our Asset Management Practice team and business units to deliver high quality Asset Management and Data Governance advice and consultancy to Infrastructure clients to support them on their Asset Management transformation journey. Works with or leads Asset Management and Data Governance project teams. Applies broad knowledge of leading-edge asset management and data life cycle processes and practices to the planning, development, design, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as highways, rail, transit, aviation, and utilities (water, wastewater, energy).

Major results expected include high-quality written, verbal, and graphical deliverables in the form of asset management and data governance plans and reports, progress reports, and other related documentation.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Under general direction, provides leadership and technical expertise within our Asset Management Practice team and business units to deliver high quality Asset Management and Data Governance advice and consultancy to Infrastructure clients to support them on their Asset Management transformation journey.

  • Works with or leads Asset Management and Data Governance project teams.

  • Applies broad knowledge of leading-edge asset management and data life cycle processes and practices to the planning, development, design, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as highways, rail, transit, aviation, and utilities (water, wastewater, energy).

  • Major results expected include high-quality written, verbal, and graphical deliverables in the form of asset management and data governance plans and reports, progress reports, and other related documentation.

  • Applies general data management planning expertise to solve specific data management-related problems.

  • Uses Asset Management and Data Governance experience to help transform organizations in meeting their data-driven decision support needs to support their corporate objectives.

  • Document client source systems of record (source of truth), report content mapping (data lineage mapping), and data and business workflows.

  • Responsible for on time and in budget delivery of assigned projects.

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams.

  • Mentors Junior Consultants in the Asset Management Practice in the development of strategic thinking capabilities to design and execute project approach.

  • Brings client understanding and engagement skills to support pursuit of business development opportunities.

  • Co-Leads and provides oversight of gap analysis and improvement plans, business process engineering, and business plan development.

  • Co-Leads development of client data policy and develop data governance strategies.

  • Co-Leads development of Strategic Data Governance plans and asset specific management plans.

  • Builds Data Governance capability, supporting clients in strengthening their governance skills and expertise.

  • Writes reports, participates in presentations, discusses concepts and deliverables with clients, and serves as a lead in quality-control checks.

  • Proposes solutions, quantifies expected results, and presents recommendations to the client's senior management team.

  • Coordinates with various departments within the organization (both client and consultant staff) to complete approved recommendations, ensures that all parties understand the proposed solution, documents requirements accurately and executes the implementation plan in a timely manner.

  • May manage data governance efforts in one or various concurrent projects.

  • May Supervise Asset Management team members.

  • Performs such assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time

  • Complexity - Requires an advanced level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret data. Requires ability to plan for, prioritize, coordinate, and handle a variety of complex tasks, interpreting and adapting established procedures and guidelines as necessary and appropriate.

  • Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, developing systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity in data management. Requires ability to turn Business Plans into reality and delivering outcomes.

  • Decision-making - Consistently exercises independent judgment and undertakes initiative to determine the approach or action to take in varied situations. Work is reviewed for progress and results. Exercises independent judgment on regular assignments.  Provides instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Works to include clients input throughout projects.

  • Work direction given to others - May from time to time oversees the work of, and/or provides work direction to junior and/or other senior consultants and/or clients.

What will you contribute?

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology or another subject related to the discipline of Asset Management or Data Governance such as Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering. Master's degree/MBA can substitute for one year of experience. This level may be achieved by candidates with 6 (six) years’ experience since Bachelor's or five (5) years since Master's/MBA or four (4) years since PhD.
  • Relevant work experience would include five (5) years of experience with data analytics or system development providing exposure to asset management consulting and data governance, including work in operations, maintenance, design of infrastructure assets in rail, highways, transit, aviation, water, and ports sectors.
  • Without a degree, a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant experience required.
  • Position requires strong analytical ability, good communication/interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong personal computer skills and ability to work in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and Visio, are required.
  • Position requires ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with people at all levels of the organization and to represent the firm professionally.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential to interact effectively.
  • Experience and understanding of data architecture.  Ability to analyze data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to gain efficiencies.
  • Extensive experience with data visualization and high proficiency in technical writing.
  • Desired, but not required: IAM Certificate, PMP Certificate, GISP Certificate, Data Scientist Certificate, or other related registrations.
  • General Competencies expected of all Professionals and Managers are Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality and Teamwork.
  • Ability to access and understand technology materials, ability to operate computer keyboard, and ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze data while working under pressure of frequent deadlines. We are looking for an experienced consultant with a proven track record in delivering t projects to an exceptional standard, on time and on budget.
