We are hiring! Atkins seeks an Sr ITS Traffic Project Manager to join our team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate for this position has experience leading a team, is passionate about the traffic engineering field, and has demonstrated technical and project management skills.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to staff, lead technical studies, manage projects and tasks, and contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems. The individual will coordinate with other internal groups and subconsultants, coordinate with clients, and facilitate engagement with public and agency stakeholders. The individual also will participate in proposals and business development.
Our teams are currently delivering exciting and nationally important infrastructure projects, including roadways, toll facilities, transit, bike/ped projects, sustainable solutions, and transportation technology projects. You’ll further your experience through exceptional formal training opportunities and work on a diverse range of industry-leading projects.

How will you contribute to the team?
- Staff management – Mentor and supervise staff, identify current availability and future staffing needs.
- Project management and production – Ensure appropriate staff allocation to projects. Manage own project and/or task-level scopes, schedules, and budgets and monitor team’s performance.
- Marketing and client maintenance – Participate as needed in project proposals, marketing, and client contact.
- Design Build task lead – Lead a traffic engineering discipline (signing, pavement markings, ITS, lighting, traffic signals, MOT, traffic operations and analysis) on a major Design-Build project.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or a related field.
- Ten years or more of experience, including some supervisory experience and four of these years working as a project manager.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to represent the firm effectively to clients, key public officials, and the community in general.
- Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g., P.E.
- PMP or CCM required within one year of assuming this position.
- Eligible candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
