AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Project Director to join our Houston, TX office. The selected candidate will lead and support multi-discipline engineering design and/or Program Management teams for a variety of project types. Will serve as project lead for varying types of project delivery methods including P3, D/B, traditional DBB delivery and various other types. The selected candidate will have demonstrated success in managing small or large multi-discipline projects and possess strong leadership and people/client skills. Candidate will also have experience serving as a senior consultant, leading, managing and providing guidance of project analyses, preparing plans, and developing innovative solutions to project challenges. The selected candidate will have experience and demonstrated success in working with public or private sector clients.

How will you contribute to the team?
- Provide industry-leading knowledge and prominence to AtkinsRéalis projects and initiatives.
- Support clients to formulate innovative solutions to transportation/infrastructure/program management issues.
- Provide QA/QC functions and expert advice for complex projects.
- Function as a project lead and mentor to project teams.
- Prepare project work plans, develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Direct project team compliance with contract terms, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
- Monitor schedules, financial status of projects and quality control on projects.
- Review and prepare contract documents.
- Identify and support business development activities and proposal development. Actively pursue, investigate, and evaluate new or expanded opportunities for associated projects and services within the firm by maintaining contacts with current and prospective client decision makers; identifies and works toward the resolution of client relations issues.
- Work with the Business Unit to develop strategic direction for expanding the Program Management business line.
- Provide subject matter expertise related to alternative delivery, project delivery, technical issues, program management, controls, and oversight, etc.
- Develop standards, best practices, processes, user guides, and other documentation.
- Support AtkinsRéalis in delivery of other projects within Business Unit across Texas and the Central Region.
What will you contribute?
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This position requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience.
- Professional TX licensure or ability to obtain within 90 days is required. Project Management Professional Certification is a plus.
- The candidate considered for this position could have a background in a variety of engineering backgrounds such as civil roadway, civil water infrastructure, construction management, and planning.
- Experience and demonstrated success in working with cities, counties, toll agencies, higher education or school districts, and metropolitan planning organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting business development activities and defining new markets and services, strong existing client relationships a plus.
- Effective written and oral (formal and informal presentations) communication skills a must as is a demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively.
- Experience supervising multidiscipline teams with staff of varying experience.
- Experience interfacing with clients and proposing innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of project and client types.
