In response to a strong forward outlook in our UK and overseas markets, we are continuing to recruit experienced acousticians who can help to grow and shape our Acoustics, Noise and Vibration business, with a history of more than 50 years in consultancy. 

The Role

We look forward to hearing from aspiring acoustic consultants to be based in one of our London, Epsom, Bristol, Birmingham or Warrington offices.  Prior experience of acoustic consultancy is not essential but would be desirable.

You will be working on nationally significant and high-profile infrastructure, building and environmental projects in the UK and overseas. Working as an integral part of the Acoustics team, you will be building up your experience and expertise on multi-disciplinary projects and advising clients. Through working closely with an experienced team, you will be mentored to develop your working knowledge of the relevant Design Standards and Guidelines and gain experience of acoustic measurement techniques and modelling software.

Requirements

The ideal applicant would have: 

• Qualifications to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field;

• Strong inter-personal skills to work collaboratively as part of a wider team of professionals;

• Ability to manage own time and workload;

• Good understanding of analytical methods and relevant assessment standards; 

• Membership of the Institute of Acoustics at appropriate level;

• Demonstrable experience gained in the consultancy environment (desirable)

Training

Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development activities designed to help you perform to the best of your abilities and talents. These are reviewed with individuals through an annual appraisal process. We actively support staff in achieving Chartership via relevant institutions.
