Analyst – Risk Management / Systems
 

In support of effective risk management across SNC-Lavalin, the corporate risk management team provides governance of the company’s risk management efforts, processes and systems, oversees pre-bid and post-award risk reviews, carries out independent peer reviews, and analyzes and formally reports on the company’s risk profile.

Reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management, the incumbent in this position will play an important role in supporting the company’s risk management efforts.  This role may be based out of Montreal or Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out analysis and support preparation of risk reporting to executive team and Board.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to system users on risk management tools – including third party software (ARM, @Risk, PRA) and internal workflow and database applications across the full project life cycle.
  • Administer risk management tools, providing primary interface with users and IT.
  • Train system end users and write or update user documentation.
  • Provide guidance on risk management process/methodology to system users.
  • Work closely with IT in managing application development efforts and updates.
  • Support probabilistic analysis on project cost and schedule.
  • Support enterprise risk management program input, analysis and reporting.
  • Support subject matter experts on project peer reviews.


Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Sciences, Computer or Information Science or related.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in engineering or related field.  Two (2) years’ direct experience in a project environment.
  • Strong systems background and interest.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel including pivot tables, macros).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret data. Strong knowledge of data visualization.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting principles highly preferable.
  • Prior familiarity with risk management processes and software highly preferable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in French highly preferable.
