Assistant Accountant

Atkins Infrastructure division are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to work from our Epsom office.

As Assistant Accountant you will support the Senior Financial Controller in providing financial and accounting support to the Engineering Practice within Atkins’ Infrastructure Division. Main activities will centre around the management accounts process, overhead analysis and time queries

The Engineering Practice of Atkins’ Infrastructure division is a 1000+ strong practice of engineering professionals providing a wide range of world class utility and infrastructure engineering capabilities to external and internal clients, across the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Financial Controller with production of monthly accounts, annual budget & quarterly forecasts
• Monthly overhead analysis
• Standard monthly journals
• Weekly timesheet analysis 
• Provide first line support for time and overhead queries within the Practice
• Ad hoc projects and support to the Practice Financial Controller

Requirements

• Good IT skills particularly Microsoft products
• High level of numeracy and literacy
• Proactive with a “can do” attitude
• Attention to detail – able to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience of working collaboratively within a team to achieve joint goals and objectives.
• Be working toward, or be willing to start working towards, a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, etc.) 

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
