About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Australasia, our Engineering, Design and Project Management team in Sydney have a fixed term contract opportunity available for an Assistant Accountant.

We anticipate this contract will be for approximately 6 months.

Ideally you will have 2-5 years’ experience, this position is responsible for assignment ledger entries and ensuring regular validation and reconciliation of the statutory and management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations;
• Periodic reporting and data analysis in MS Excel;
• Processing of monthly journals, prepayments/accruals;
• Cash flow forecasting;
• Review bookkeeping and assignment ledger entries;
• Looking after IFRS15 and IFRS16
• AP and AR support
• Project accounting support
• Tax compliance,
• Year-end auditing back up
• Intercompany REC
• P&L review and analysis
• Support Finance Manager on ad hoc reporting

Education and Skills

• Degree qualified, tertiary level Accounting or equivalent;
• Proficiency in Excel is a must! Must be at an advanced level and be able to show full use of functionality including detailed tables, creation of formulas and other general financial accounting practices;
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and some company tax knowledge;
• JDE and HFM experience are important.
• CPA member
