SNC-Lavalin's Engineering, Design and Project Management Sector designs lasting transportation infrastructure for cities and communities across the globe. We are looking for Engineers who can work for our Engineering, Design and Project Management Sector's Transportation Department in Bengaluru, India.  Suitable candidates will be hardworking, diligent engineers, proficient with AutoCAD and/or Microstation, Bentley Rail Track and/or Civil 3D & interested in pursuing a career in the design of light rail, metro, and heavy rail transportation networks for clients worldwide.

To perform this role successfully, the Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Track alignment and geometric layout
  • Vehicle/Structure Clearance assurance; ClearRoute experience would be an added bobus
  • Trackwork design
  • Drawing preparation / drafting
  • Quantity take-off’s and cost estimating
  • Preparation of Technical Specifications
  • Preparation of engineering documentation
  • As-built survey analysis
  • Present and communicate effectively design developed to client
  • Manage delivery of the design work from start to end

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with any professional body recognized by Engineering Council UK
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with AutoCAD/Microstation, Bentley Rail Track/Civil 3D
  • Experienced in Corridor Modelling and other BIM related aspects of track work design
  • Strong communication skills, written English and work ethic
  • Able to blend well with a diverse group of engineers 
  • Experience in UK railway engineering or transportation engineering would be an asset, but is not required.  We, however, expect the candidates to start delivering work quickly and work with the right attitude.
  • Knowledge in French would be an advantage.
