Assistant Financial Controller

Purpose of the Role

The assistant financial controller’s role will cover two main areas: financial support and control in the EDP project and providing support to ADS&T central finance functions. The role reports directly to the SIG Market Finance Controller.

Requirements

• Qualified or nearly qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Some knowledge of Atkins’ finance processes, standards and systems
• The role will require travel, mainly within the UK

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that the EDP team has day to day financial support.  Working with all parties including Market Finance, PCO team & EDP Project Managers
• Involvement with pricing and bid support to Project Managers, including the integrity of bid models
• Preparation of cashflow forecasting, reporting and analysis, including lock-up management
• Assistance with EDP budgeting and forecasting process
• Support the ADS&T central finance function with ADS&T Quarterly and Annual forecasting & budgeting co-ordination and reporting 
• Ad hoc projects and support to the financial controller

Competencies

• IT literate, with strong excel skills (to advance level including pivot tables, look-ups and macros)
• Analytical with an enquiring mind
• Proactive approach – able to work autonomously and use own initiative
• Commercially aware
• Good communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and process to a high standard under time pressure
