Due to continued growth our UAE Property Business are looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to be based in Dubai.

 

Responsibilities:

To assist the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in carrying out the day-to-day management of the Project.

Assist in co-ordination of the services being provided by all parties, including other Business Sectors and sub-consultants.

Assist the Project Manager/Senior Project manager in setting up the administration and finance system requirements, as set out in the JDE Project Manager's User Guide.

Assist the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in preparing a Project Execution Plan and Project Quality Plan and monitor delivery of our services to these documents.

Assist the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in satisfying the targets of Financial Delivery of a project.

 

Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.

 

We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes.

 

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.



Technical Competencies / Qualifications / Experience

 

Essential

  • Degree qualified in an engineering or architectural discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of post graduate professional experience
  • Knowledge and experience of design process is mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Ability to liaise with a wide variety of staff and Clients at all levels essential
  • Computer literate in the essential M’Soft software, ie Word, Excel
  • Able to prepare competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality
  • Able to manage the drafting of successful responses to bids within their area of expertise
  • Able to estimate pricing/timing associated with projects
  • Clear knowledge of work procedures, and ability to communicate those to others
  • An effective team member able to apply knowledge gained
  • Flexible and enthusiastic and able to make sound judgements
  • Able to discuss in detail with clients the local business (Divisional) technologies and markets
  • Appreciation of the commercial aspects of project management
  • Self motivated and able to work as part of a team and under own initiative

 

Desirable

 

Administrative skills

  • 2 years work experience within the Middle East
  • Proven project management skills having had responsibility for completion of projects to time and cost
  • Good leadership qualities and gains respect from colleagues
