Do you have the drive, skills and ability to work with us as an Associate Engineer, leading and shaping the future of AtkinsRéalis? The role will involve working with a respected technical team and working collaboratively to both secure and deliver work across our extensive client portfolio.

Our Dams, Reservoirs and Hydraulic Structures discipline works closely with UK and international clients to manage and develop their reservoir portfolio, successfully planning, designing and enabling works that ensure public safety and acceptability and optimise the use of commercial and natural resources. Our team has been responsible for high profile and award-winning projects including the design of the proposed Havant Thicket Winter Storage Reservoir. Our frameworks with multiple water companies and the Environment Agency provide us with a significant pipeline of strategic improvements to water supply and flood storage reservoirs and the exciting prospect to design new dams and reservoirs.

We enjoy successful partnerships with our clients from the private and public sector, other consultants and contractors. This role presents the opportunity to take a lead in developing our growing dams & reservoirs workload in the UK and beyond.  Working closely with our discipline lead, in-house ARPE and discipline colleagues, and supported by the strength-in-depth provided by the wider AtkinsRéalis, you will head the successful delivery of projects, build on your strong client relationships and have the opportunity to raise your industry profile and develop your career to meet your aspirations.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer with an established industry profile in the fields of dam and reservoir engineering with the ability to oversee the work of others and achieve right-first-time results.
  • Strong technical experience in hydraulic and /or geotechnical engineering as applied to the management and design of dams and reservoirs and their associated hydraulic structures, with knowledge of relevant codes, standards and guidance documents, and an appreciation of current developments.
  • Track record of leading the delivery of successful projects and the ability to develop winning tenders.
  • Ability to identify and employ innovation and leading-edge technologies to meet client needs.
  • Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas. Experience of successful international working and work winning would be an advantage.
  • A valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the successful delivery of tasks and projects from inception to handover, meeting quality, time and budget requirements.
  • Overseeing dams and reservoirs activities for key local clients, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of strong relationships leading to new and repeat business.
  • Generating successful proposals that meet client needs and lead to technically and commercially successful work.
  • Leading in developing our service lines and technical capability, delivering business development targets.
  • Inspiring and mentoring colleagues in developing their technical knowledge and understanding.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
