Working within a team of Drafting and Design professionals in either our Saskatoon or Regina office location, the successful candidate will be providing design and drafting services to Engineers and other technical employees.  This position will be of interest to someone possessing strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills.  The willingness and proven ability to work in a team atmosphere and the ability to take a flexible approach to work assignments is essential.  The incumbent will be highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks while demonstrating significant attention to detail.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing civil engineering design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for projects including infrastructure, geotechnical, geo-environmental, transportation, urban & rural development

  • Preparing plan and profile, grading and cross-section drawings for roadways/dyke projects etc.

  • Generate 3D surfaces, profiles, designs, and volume calculations from Survey and LIDAR data

  • Preparing conceptual presentation drawings and report figures

  • Preparing geological cross-sections

  • Coordinating project drawings and survey data with project managers and technical staff

  • Completing earthwork quantity analyses

  • Assisting in the completion of technical design reports

  • Maintain familiarity with available technologies (e.g., AutoCAD updates) and advise management of industry or other changes that may improve efficiencies or presentation of drawings or other visual renderings

What will you contribute?

  • Drafting diploma or certificate in a related discipline, or equivalent education/training

  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 (or greater) is preferred

  • Preferentially, 2-5 years of experience will be considered for a Junior or Intermediate position, however with the right qualifications, all levels of experience will be considered

  • Experience supporting or completing; design drawing in support of civil engineering projects, environmental monitoring projects, slope stability analysis, air emissions analysis, hydrological, hydrogeological, or other environmental projects considered an asset

  • Experience with field surveying concepts and techniques, GPS technology and survey software considered an asset

  • Post Secondary education in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geography, or related discipline also beneficial

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Familiarity with sources of geo-spatial data in Western Canada will be considered an asset

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary consulting environment

  • Experience in other CADD programs considered an asset
