Clean Water Network Modeller / Engineer

Atkins is one of the largest engineering and design consultancies in the UK, one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in Europe and one of the largest design firms in the world.

Our Networks & Drainage Engineering team is one of the largest in the UK with clients that include utility companies, local authorities, MOD and independent businesses. We are currently seeking a Clean Water Network Modeller to join our team based in Epsom.

The candidate should have several years post graduate experience, must have a sound knowledge of clean water modelling packages. They should be able to work at engineer level and to work to technical, programme and budget requirements.


Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering (BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering)
  • Actively working towards membership of an appropriate professional institution (MICE and/or CIWEM)
  • Essential Criteria
  • Functional experience with water modelling packages such as InfoWater, InfoWorks WS and SynerGEE
  • Using hydraulic models for planning and operational purposes
  • Working knowledge of GIS packages e.g. MapInfo and / or ArcGIS
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligible to work in the EU
  • Experience with coding and a working knowledge of macros would be advantageous.

 

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of projects as part of a team as well as on individual assignments as required
  • Investigation and resolution of water infrastructure issues through the development of design solutions 
  • Interacting with Clients and other stakeholders during face to face meetings
  • Data analysis and anomaly identification
  • Technical report writing
  • Proactive commitment to Health and Safety

 

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview
