SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tampa, FL Project Finance Group as a Collections Specialist.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Responsible for collection of outstanding accounts receivables within the assigned area of responsibility. Typically handles accounts in early stages of delinquency.


JOB DUTIES

  • Contact clients and make arrangements to bring the account current while complying with internal policy and procedures.
  • Investigate, research, and track client invoice disputes.
  • Document all internal and external interactions with precise and content rich comments that describe the issue and the person that needs to take action.
  • Identify client payment trends and patterns.
  • Work with internal and external clients to resolve short pay discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the collection processes.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School graduate with some college courses and four years of office experience, preferably in Accounting, or Associates degree in Math or Accounting and two years’ specific accounting experience. Knowledge of Lien Law and Small Claims procedures preferred.


SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
  • Ideal candidate must:
  • Display strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to bring past due accounts current.
  • Operate in a goal-oriented environment achieving individual and team performance targets.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in a metrics-driven environment.
  • First party collections experience strongly preferred (as opposed to working for a collection agency).
