Compensation and Benefits Manager - Global

As announced on December 20th 2017, ABB and SNC-Lavalin have signed an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) for the execution of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects for electrical substations. SNC-Lavalin will have majority and controlling interest in the JV. This role will be part of this JV.


Reporting to the Head of HR the incumbent will be responsible for implementing a Total Rewards Framework for a global organisation, incorporating best industry practices. Managing the compensation and benefits for the organisation, developing and implementing new and revised compensation and benefits programs, policies and procedures and competitive practices. Reviewing and streamlining benefits practices, incentive schemes and implementation of recognition programs. This position is also responsible for ensuring through audits, legal reports and personal interactions that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with firm policies and government regulations.





Main accountabilities:
• Ensure competitiveness of Total Reward programs including comprehensive compensation, benefits, incentives benchmarking and alignment of compensation structures.
• Drive the annual salary review processes by managing all operational requirements for compensation year-end process including measuring market competitiveness, annual salary review process, annual incentive plan process.
• Lead the selection and implementation of a new payroll provision to replace the TSA
• Manage and negotiate with brokers and third party solution providers. Lead the review of benefit provisions under TSA/initial benefits set up following Day 1 and provide proposals and implementation plans for approval of new benefits as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Hub HR Account Managers and Business leaders to understand their issues related to compensation and benefits. Provide education and counsel to Hub HR Account Managers, Managers, and Talent Acquisition regarding compensation issues, evaluating new positions, job bands, grade levels, job descriptions, promotions and transfers.
• Drive adoption, communication, and change management of any systems changes and/or new system launches.
• Ensure that the organisation is in compliance with all compensation and benefits laws and regulations in the countries it operates.
• Develop and implement innovative recognition programs to enhance motivation and productivity of employees.
• Build and sustain collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the firm.
• Liase with SNC Lavalin Global Mobility team to deliver effective management of global assignments across the Group in a responsive, proactive and efficient manner
• Deliver the job evaluation system.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a business related field or suitable equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of Human Resources practices, related labor laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of compensation data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel based functions.
• Ability to work with files containing large amounts of data.
• Established organizational skills, flexibility and a proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity over all sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high attention to detail.
• Some travel required, flexible (possibly home based) location.
