Data Analytics and BI Reporting Business Analyst/Developer

The Data Analytics Functional Analyst and Developer will join the project management, procurement and collaboration team. The core of our approach is abstracting models of real-life business and commercial problems that are intuitive to use, yet sufficiently realistic to support robust business decision-making. We collaborate closely with key functions, including project controls, engineering, commercial and technology teams, across all SNC-Lavalin and Atkins business sectors in seeking out and realizing high impact AI opportunities.
 

• Understand the customer landscape and identify common needs across the organisation.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders from across SNC Lavalin Group translating their needs into a robust and transparent platform/solution roadmap.
• Research new technologies and drive innovation across the analytics Platform.
• Collect requirements from stakeholders across the organization, that include appropriate technical detail, and business goals and translate customer needs into solutions.
• Communicate very effectively with partners, vendors and technology teams to track and resolve issues, manage costs and improve levels of service.
• Take a leading role in design discussions and challenge technology assumptions where required.
• Development, support and maintenance of the business metrics and KPIs via Power BI, SSRS and SAP Business Object.
• The ability to design quick prototypes or models using Excel or Visualization tools to have a dialog with the client and precisely capture the actual functional requirements.
• The ability to work with the team to design and implement the actual reports, dashboards and other data products Educate and train end-users so that they can make fullest use of reporting solutions.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets that are in different formats and from various platforms

Desired Job Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related experience 
• 5+ years of experience creating, designing, analysing and maintaining data warehousing/BI Reporting products
• Expertise in using reporting packages and databases (SQL, etc.), writing queries, ETL development, charting and report writing
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse business requirements
• Advanced Excel skills would be added advantage.
• In-depth technical understanding and experience with Relational databases.
