Digital Developer Lead

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Digital Lead to join our creative team.
We are looking for a talented multi-skilled team lead with a background in web and cross platform software development who is passionate about new technology and the buzz of a dynamic, fast-paced working environment. With a hands-on approach, you must have extensive experience of managing digital projects and development teams, collaborating with UX/UI designers and be able to adapt easily to different project management methodologies including Agile and Scrum. Agency experience would be a big plus.

Our Creative Design team, based in key locations throughout the UK, consists of 50+ talented designers, developers and visualisers who collaborate both internally and externally to deliver a full range of digital creative services for Atkins and its clients. From user experience design and software prototyping, to innovations in cutting edge technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
You should possess superior organisational and project management skills and thrive when working with designers and developers to translate creative user interfaces into functional and well-built solutions. You should constantly be looking to innovate by being a natural problem solver with a passion for new technologies.

Responsibilities:
• Digital thought-leadership
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities
• Working with clients and other technical leads to develop digital innovation
• Concepting and scoping small and large scale digital initiatives
• Technical Lead of project architecture and prototyping
• You will be client facing so confidence is key
• Use a high degree of technical and professional judgement to resolve design and technical challenges
• Ensuring high-quality team delivery to tight timescales
• Line management of a multi-skilled development team
• Leading development team meetings, scrum calls and progress updates
• Planning and reporting the resourcing of the team and projects
• Managing project budgets and time estimates
Required experience:
• An extensive level of experience of working in a similar role
• Solid understanding of modern web development principles and best practices
• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail with technical and creative principles
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Ability to motivate and mentor a team of developers
• Scheduling multiple concurrent work streams
• Line management experience
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team
• The ability to work under pressure, multi-task and have proven success in meeting tight deadlines
Desirable:
• Experience of technically leading software development projects
• Experience in a mobile development role
