Saudi Aramco’s Downstream business line is responsible for the Company’s downstream operations including Domestic Refining & NGL Fractionation (DR&NGLF) which oversees the operations of the Company’s wholly owned and JV refineries and NGL fractionation plants. The candidate will be working under the newly-established Capital Efficiency Division (CED) which reports directly to the Executive Director (VP Level) of DR&NGLF. This division handles all capital projects from $20M up to $100MM in existing facilities. The CED initiates, plans and executes with plant personnel all capital projects (new, revamp, debottlenecks, repairs or replacement). In addition, CED supports all current and future capital projects of all sizes. Another critical function of CED is evaluating growth and profitability improvements’ initiatives in alignment with corporate strategic objectives.

The Downstream Business Analyst will develop business cases to support profitability and growth targets.
Specific functions to be performed include:
  • Develop prefeasibility studies for new business opportunities.
  • Conduct evaluations as part of Refining Investment Plan development with other organizations at corporate level, for both current and new facilities.
  • Enhance the competitiveness of the current asset base by capturing debottlenecking and integration opportunities.
  • Incorporate study cases into Linear Program (LP) to be used as basis for business case definitions.
  • Perform economic evaluation and rigorous financial modeling/analysis to identify value creation opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Carry out benchmarking studies or analysis to identify opportunities for net cash margin improvements.
  • Lead the development or update of facility master plan with the focus on capital investments to improve its financial performance.

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • 11-15 years of professional experience within refining, focusing on planning and economics with at least 3 years’ experience in Operations.
  • Previous Linear Program experience; PIMS experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in capital planning and investment decisions related to profitability improvement and growth.
  • Deep understanding of investment analysis and financial indicators like NPV, IRR, profitability index, etc.
  • Proficient in using advanced spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to communicate and present to management the outcome of economic analysis.
