How will you contribute to the team?

• Maintaining line of sight with the drone to ensure safe operation.
• Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections of the drone to ensure it is in proper working condition, including checking batteries, propellers, and camera equipment.
• Evaluate weather conditions to determine if it is safe to fly, considering wind speed, precipitation, visibility, and other factors that could affect flight safety.
• Identify and assess potential risks associated with the flight mission, including airspace restrictions, nearby people or property, and the operational environment.
• Ensure that the drone is always within the pilot's visual line of sight during operation, unless operating under specific regulations that allow otherwise
• Report any incidents or accidents that occur during flight operations to the appropriate authorities and follow up with a thorough investigation and documentation of the event.
• Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with technological advancements, changing regulations, and best practices in drone operation and safety.
• Maintain awareness of people and property in the area during flight operations to minimize risks to public safety.
• Be prepared to execute emergency procedures in case of equipment failure, loss of control, or other unforeseen circumstances, including a safe landing protocol
• Assist with pre-flight checks, including battery levels, sensor functionality, and weather conditions.
• Handle drone transportation and setup at operational sites.

What will you contribute?

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus four years related experience OR an associate’s degree in a related technical field plus two years related experience is required.
• Interest in pursuing an FAA-Certified Drone Pilot is highly desirable.
• Must possess effective communication skills, and solid knowledge of all drone instruments and procedures. Job requires good interpersonal skills and ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• FAA Remote Pilot Certificate preferred.
