Atkins Nuclear is currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team as an Electrical Design Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN.

JOB SUMMARY
  • Electrical design engineer to perform a range of electrical engineering design services in the area of power, including the following:
  • Develop high quality, code-compliant electrical engineering design output documents that conform to industry standards to clearly convey design intent to installers and guide the efforts of electrical craft.
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations as required (short circuit, arc flash, etc.). Facility with ETAP software preferred.
  • Collaborate with electrical craft to perform electrical troubleshooting of electrical and process equipment in the field.
  • Function as the electrical engineering discipline lead on design tasks and coordinate with other engineering disciplines who may be involved as required.
  • Engineering and design work will primarily focus on standard industrial systems such as substations, transformers, primary and secondary distribution, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Switch Boards, general office building electrical systems, etc


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 
  •  BS in Electrical Engineering required with 10 or more years of experience (industrial power background). 
  • Good written and oral communication skills necessary.
