Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Environmental team in Dallas as an Environmental Scientist/Ecologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience. Under supervision, performs standard scientific work while developing professional proficiency.


Job Duties:

Primary focus areas will include wetlands, threatened/endangered species, storm water compliance, regulatory compliance/due diligence. Generally applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of diversified scientific tasks, requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning, and being able to detect problems in using standardized procedures. Must be able to adapt to changing conditions and able to clearly communicate orally and through writing. Field assessment and report writing is standard practice.


Education:

B.S. or B.A. in a field of Science commensurate with hiring discipline.


Special Skills:

Good analytical skills and attention to detail; technical writing, computer and
communication skills.

Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing programs strongly desired.

Ability to use GIS applications and apply mapping skills a plus.


Additional Requirements:

Able to work out in the field under typical Texas weather regimes with some light lifting/carrying related to field equipment or pack.
