The Europe Division of EDPM UK&E combines the capabilities of over 1000 talented professionals in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Ireland, delivering a wide range of engineering, project and digital services.  We deliver world class technical solutions to our clients in transport, property, urban realm and increasingly in digital based solutions for our clients.  We operate across public and private sectors, working with a wide range of commercial and contracting models.

We are seeking a high calibre Finance Director to be a key member of the Europe leadership team to support the continued growth of this division.  The role will report operationally to the Managing Director, Europe and functionally to the UK & Europe Finance Director.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Europe MD and Leadership Team to drive the business agenda.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the business, including the identification, evaluation and delivery of growth and new commercial models.
• Challenge and support the business in delivering high quality bids and project outcomes
• Understand the economics of our client industries and use this to inform planning
• Input to commercial decisions, particularly on bid costing and pricing.
• Responsible for the financial leadership of the Europe Division, including strategic financial advice, financial planning and accounting operations
• Lead, inspire and develop a high performing finance function
• Identify and deliver opportunities for greater coordination and efficiency across Europe.
• Drive a focus on Project, P&L and Cash performance across the business.
• Lead the financial aspects of the business planning and forecasting processes.
• Provide accurate, timely and insightful reporting to the business, Sector and Group.
• Build a real-time view of the business outlook to enable good decision making.
• Ensure that financial controls are comprehensive, robust and effective.
• Liaise with the auditors to agree key accounting judgements.
• Ensure strong co-ordination and relationships with the central finance teams
• Client oversight of the planned migration from Maconomy to JDE in 2022

Requirements

• A qualified accountant with significant relevant experience
• Accomplished leader, with the ability to set strategy, develop teams and drive change
• A track record in a senior financial leadership role, ideally in a related industry
• Highly developed commercial awareness, credible in a business context
• Sound judgement, willing to take a position, based on a solid fact base
• Comfortable in managing situations where there is a high level of ambiguity
• An enquiring mind, able to provide genuine business insight
• Strong people skills, able to develop, lead and motivate a professional team
• Well-developed influencing skills, with a record of operating effectively in a complex matrix
• Collaborative, team-player, and confident in managing conflict
