We combine ABB’s deep technological knowledge and SNC-Lavalin’s project management expertise to create a company dedicated to substations – we are Linxon.


Linxon is a joint venture company set up by SNC-Lavalin and ABB to turnkey electrical AC substation projects. Linxon will undertake turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation solutions. Turnkey solutions will include project design, engineering, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and after-sales support.


Operating as part of the Senior Leadership team and reporting into the CEO you will be responsible for leading a HR function split across global regions. The successful candidate will partner with business leaders of the JV to develop the relevant business strategy and create and implement the people strategies that will support its delivery for Linxon. You will provide consultation and support in the implementation of those HR strategies, ensuring the organization has the people capabilities to deliver present and future business goals. Acting as a change agent to ensure that business results are delivered will be a priority as well as using your influencing skills to develop and coach leaders of the business.


You will be comfortable operating in a business currently implementing HR systems and therefore with limited data, as well as what is a very fast paced and demanding environment. The successful candidate will have previously operated in a multinational company, with experience of delivering in a complex professional services environment.



Main accountabilities:

Business strategy: Participates in the definition of long-term business objectives and defines the strategic HR priorities to support business strategy in area of responsibility. Participates in the development of the wider company people strategy.

  

HR Process implementation: Drives implementation of all HR processes, including workforce planning, succession planning, organization design, performance management, competence development, talent management, talent acquisition, remuneration, workforce reduction, and other processes as applicable. Oversees process maturity assessments for the HR function and ensures process improvement actions are implemented. Identifies and implements functional best practices across the Hubs.

 

HR Solution: Understands business needs and provides consulting support and advice in applying HR policy and process to achieve long-term objectives. Leverages the HR functional expertise and operational capacity to deliver results through high quality and efficient solutions, which meet the need of the business.

 

Change management: Leads change management initiatives across area of responsibility, supporting leaders, staff and HR colleagues in implementing new initiative and driving behavioral change

 

Compliance: Ensures compliance with legislation and HR policies, and adherence to Occupational Health & Safety and compliance standards in all areas of responsibility.

 

Industrial relations: Oversees activities regarding industrial relations and organized labor within the Regions to ensure strong labor relationships with unions and works councils across the organization

 

HR Shared Services: assured that the HR services are properly delivered in line with the Service agreements requirements provided by the two shareholders. Develops further opportunities to organize those in an independent manner from the minority shareholders in suitable timeline.

 

Talent and learning: Implements and delivers talent and learning programs to attract, retain and develop leaders and professionals for the organization. Develops talent and future functional leaders and appoints function heads in line with corporate regulations.

 

Representation: Represents the company in interactions internally and externally in order to communicate and reinforce the HR people strategy and provide seamless service to the business.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

• Strong knowledge and experience of relevant regional employment legislation – UK, Europe, India, Middle East, US

• Able to manage HR partners working in different countries and cultures

• Fluency in English both spoken and written, fluency in additional languages will be beneficial

• Extensive HR experience, specifically managing HR Operations, preferably for EPC businesses

• Strong understanding of reward, global mobility and delegation models

• Strong Operational HR skills and background with excellent planning, project management and coordinating skills

• Able to adopt a “hands on approach” during the initial HR function set up

• Results and customer service oriented

• Excellent communication, presentation, reporting and networking skills

• Passion for working with and learning from individuals from various countries/cultures

• Excellent interpersonal, influential and organizational skills

• Possess a high level of self-belief and independence to support difficult but credible challenges during discussions.

• Track record of delivering effective change management in the people environment

• Ability to travel
