Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor (Safety Officer)

What will you do?

  • Act as the HSE focal point to the assigned site cluster, project, and management including during both routine progress meetings and emergent issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement Project HSE Plan in line with project contractual requirements and maintaining it throughout the project life cycle.
  • Contribute to and/or plans and executes Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance and related projects. Develop and report on project objectives.
  • Represent the HSE function to current and prospective customers.
  • Maintain required HSE records and develop and present routine HSE progress reports.
  • Maintain awareness of developments and legislation that impact assigned functions.
  • Lead accident investigations to ensure that root-cause analysis is appropriately conducted, and corrective actions address the causes.
  • Participate and support analysis of incident trends and provide recommendations for preventative and improvement actions.
  • Conduct project site visits and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of HSE processes and assist in taking the necessary steps to close gaps in execution.
  • Facilitate and direct HSE best practices to ensure continuous improvement and to instill a world-class culture.
  • Provide advice, support and training where necessary to management and workforce to achieve HSE objectives and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the identification, analysis and development of controls to eliminate or minimize occupational hazards at project and service locations.
  • Act as the HSE focal point to site, project, and management including during both routine progress meetings and emergent issue resolution.
  • Provide summary of ons learned feedback to HSE Lead to support further Process Improvements Initiatives.
  • Performs such assignments and duties as the HSE Lead may deem necessary from time to time.

Experience, Education and other Required:

  • With at least 5-year business experience in HSE Advisor/Specialist/Safety Officer background with good knowledge of EPC works, electrical activities and construction industry of different size, complexity and contractual types.
  • BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred
     
  • Construction HSE experience including execution of site preparation, demolition, installation, and commissioning scopes.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
  • High comfort level with digitized management tools.
     

Competencies/ Skills Required:

  • Must have valid First Aid, COSH for SO2 or COSH training + LCM (Loss Control Management) for SO3 accredited by DOLE.
  • OSH Practitioner for Construction accreditation from DOLE is an added advantage.
  • In depth knowledge of construction legislations (from DOLE-BWC/CIAP) and procedures in the Philippines.
  • Collaborative attitude with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and tight deadline.
  • Willingness to deliver ad hoc tasks as and when local office required.
