The Atkins Construction Management Group is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter to join our Denver, CO office as a Highway/Bridge Construction Inspector. The project for this position will be based in Grand Junction, Colorado.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE
Under supervision, observes the work of contractors involved in the construction of projects.
NOTE: Incumbents do not supervise any contractor activities and are not responsible for job site safety.

JOB DUTIES

Performs non-manual field work in support of company's construction management operations.
Applies conventional field observation practices in diversified construction projects with relatively few highly complex features.
Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications and special provisions. Advises internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field and two years related experience. With Associate's degree, ten years of related experience. Without a degree, twelve years related experience is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Good math, communications, computers and organizational skills.
Experience on Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) projects or projects in accordance with CDOT specifications desired.
Experience working with Bridge rehabilitation preferred

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

CDOT construction certifications desired.
Certification as a certified welding inspector a plus
