Atkins is one of the worlds’ leading engineering design consultancies with a strong reputation in the Rivers & Coastal sector. The Rivers & Coastal team within Atkins Water, Ground & Environment has a good portfolio of development projects.

 

We currently have an opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Engineer in our rapidly expanding River & Coastal, Environment team in Bangalore. With strong work load in pipeline we need to increase our resources to meet the growing demands from our clients across UK and US, especially in the river and coastal hydraulic modelling.

Job Description:

 

You will work closely with our existing teams of hydraulic modellers, hydrologists, water quality modellers and engineers through the delivery of different modelling assignments to a range of clients. You will apply your knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, scientific aptitude and result orientated approach to achieve deliverables which are in line with client’s requirement.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • A strong academic background with degree in Civil engineering and /or Master Degree in relevant subject.
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in the hydrological and hydraulic modelling and/or water resources industry.
  • Experience of 1D-2D hydrological and hydraulic modelling software like ISIS-TuFlow, HECRAS, Infoworks RS/ICM and FEH.
  • Conversant skills of using GIS software (MapInfo/ArcGIS/QGIS).
  • Excellent report writing skills and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • Team player with enthusiasm to mentor graduate team members in developing their skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
  • A flair for innovation, numeracy and the right attitude



Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of using other hydrological and hydraulic modelling software like MIKE and WINFAP
  • Experience in applying UK hydrological methodologies (e.g. Flood Estimation Handbook)
  • Knowledge of National Planning Policy Framework 2015 (UK) and CIRIA 753
