Intermediate Bridge Engineer

Responsibilities:

Provide highway/LRT bridge and structural design

Organize design and drawing production

Deliver all engineering responsibilities to achieve project objectives within the specified schedules, man-hour estimates and budgets

Develop preliminary design concept for different types of bridge superstructure

Prepare detailed design calculations in a proper design and brief format

Ensure all design and completed work conforms to contract specifications and SNC Lavalin’s quality standards.

Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, Geotech, track, electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.) on design solutions

Guide, train and lead one to two junior staff

Conduct site visits and inspections on existing bridges or during construction

Qualifications:

5+years of bridge / structural design experience

Bachelor or Masters of Engineering Degree or Bachelor or Masters in Applied Science Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

Eligible for professional licensing with APEGBC

Good computer modeling/analysis skills, proficient in structural software such as CSI Bridge, MIDAS, etc.
