The Joint Venture of SNC Lavalin Nuclear and Aecon was formed in 2013 to support the 12.8 Billion-dollar Darlington refurbishment project. The Joint Venture was rebranded under a single unified name CanAtom in 2018. The goal of CanAtom is to strengthen our project delivery and ensure we are functionally aligned as a single and cohesive EPC team. The joint venture was awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out multiple projects at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, including a Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR) project, a Turbine Generator Refurbishment (TGR) project and an Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ESMSA) with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for projects at both the Pickering & Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Junior Engineer to join our busy department located on site in Courtice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaise with engineering managers to develop and maintain an Engineering Critical Actions List.  Coordinate review meetings, provide regular updates and ensure closure of the actions through follow up with action owners
• Assist Engineering managers in initiating change requests, trend alerts and PCNs.  Develop and provide regular status update to trend alert and PCNs logs
• Support an integrated engineering team with preparation of metrics and dashboards for engineering quantities and deliverables
• Ensure compliance with all requirements for fabrication, installation, construction of modifications including those in CSA N286.3 and CAN/CSA-N285.06
• Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur.
• Provide assurance that design and manufacturing activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures.
• Prepare technical documents, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Participate in field implementations of the tooling systems.
• Occasionally perform duties in a radiation environment.
• Maintain high standards related to final product quality

  KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Bachelors in Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil/Structural)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
• Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
• Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated
• Thrive on a fast paced-environment

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Various work location in both field and office
• Travel as necessary
