We are currently seeking a Junior Risk Manager to join our team in Calgary.

This is a one year fixed term role which may be renewed depending on workload and future client requirements.

Support Risk Manager in facilitation, delivery & report of project risk assessments using Monte Carlo simulation software.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with client project team relationships to continue project risk management support.

  • Work with client project teams to gain understanding of projects, interrogate client issued documentation (scope, schedule, estimate).

  • Be able to interrogate MS Project and P6 in order to recreate a high level schedule for modelling purposes.

  • Be able to interrogate cost information (usually excel) in order to classify project costs in terms of client, design, contractor costs, and extract contingency. Have an understanding of AACE classes and the implications of each.

  • Support facilitation of risk workshops, taking notes of discussions and updating risk register in real time.

  • Be able to input and run schedule modelling software – preferably Primavera of Safran.

  • Be able to use @Risk to generate cost model information.

  • Support creation of slide decks, one page summaries, and full reports for each project – using standard templates, create draft text.

  • QA checks of all documentation prior to issue to client.

  • Manage multiple project workloads concurrently, able to prioritize work.

  • Workshops may be virtual or travel to client required location.

  • Travel requirements (if any) not expected to be more than once a month.

What will you contribute?

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in risk modelling.

  • University Degree in Engineering or Construction.

  • Experience in Engineering and Construction industry preferred.

  • Proficient with @Risk - Monte Carlo simulation software.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).

  • Proficient with Primavera P6.

  • Detail-orientated.

  • Problem solver.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Nuclear security clearance is essential.
