AtkinsRéalis’ Major Projects business unit is seeking a Lead Cost Controller with experience in the transit sector to support an industrial project in the Vancouver area. The project office is located in Burnaby, BC.

Your role within the team:

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following, including leading cost engineering activities:

  • Manage project’s budget and manage it in JDE; manage the budget in conjunction with the change management process;
  • Provide budget associated to different scopes and changes, in collaboration with procurement and construction teams
  • Capture costs to date, manage and gather / produce accruals coordinating with finance team
  • Monitor the cost performance and produce End Life cost forecasts   
  • Develop performance KPI’s and implement the Earned Value management system;
  • Establish and produce weekly and monthly progress and performance reports, recording variances to planned values and recommending corrective actions;
  • Facilitate project performance review meetings;

The ideal candidate:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering; non-engineering backgrounds such as Accounting with related experience will also be considered
  • Previous experience of 5- 15 years’ within top-tier construction or engineering companies in rail and transit sector, within cost control and project controls
  • Strong overall knowledge of project controls and Earned Value Management principles
  • Knowledge or experience with one or more top-tier ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP or Prism);
  • A member of AACEi and holds a CCP certification

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $100,000 - $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
