- The Materials Inspector will be a degree holder, preferably in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure projects.
- Report to the Senior Materials Engineer.
- Keep daily records.
- Carry out daily inspection of the works and sign off the relevant part of the contractor’s RFI’s in a timely manner.
- Raise any non conformances or poor workmanship with the Senior Materials Engineer in a timely manner.
- Raise any safety issues with the Safety officer, keeping the Resident Engineer informed
- Be responsible for the QA/QC procedures, inspection and testing of materials.
- Review the contractor’s materials’ submissions.
- Review and assess the materials delivered to site in conjunction with the Senior Materials Engineer
- Inspect and approve materials manufactured on site in conjunction with the Senior Materials Engineer
- Review all materials test results.
- Identify non conforming work and liaise with the Senior Materials Engineer for further action and close out.
- Be able to read construction drawings
- Understand material specifications and capable of enforcing the specifications from the contractor and the various supply chains.
- Previous Middle East experience would be preferred
