JOIN AtkinsRéalis is an exciting innovative world-leader in engineering and design consultancy and construction; we have the breadth and depth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects. Seeking a mechanical engineer to join our expanding team. The role will be based in the South-West region, in our Bristol office where we have large growth expectations during 2022.

We have an extensive portfolio of UK, Overseas and Globally delivered projects, helping our clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. Our locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in innovating, creative, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.

Role requirements:

  • Degree-qualified with a mechanical engineering bias; recently chartered member of a recognised engineering institution or already working towards chartership.
  • Positive and enthusiastic, a confident communicator and a team player.
  • Able to demonstrate a keen interest in the water/wastewater industry and will ideally have already spent a proportion of your career in the water sector or a related process industry, though this is not a requirement.
  • Have a good understanding of the design process/ a willingness to learn an implement.
  • Have a proven ability to complete assignments on time, within budget and to a high technical standard.
  • Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.

Typical Role Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team to develop solutions to our clients needs.
  • Delivering mechanical design components of projects as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-location, multi-party teams.
  • Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients within the UK and worldwide.
  • Support bidding and be proactive in the winning of work.
  • Contributing to new innovative ideas/ making suggestions for innovation.
  • Opportunity to present your project work in discipline group, company meetings or at conferences.
  • Working with and developing our digital tools and products.

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
