Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Epsom

If you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with ambition to prove and develop your delivery and leadership abilities, we are waiting for you to join our team. You’ll have exceptional stakeholder communication, people management skills and thrive on working within a dynamic and diverse project delivery environment.

We are looking for someone who doesn’t need to be told what to do next and likes nothing better than solving challenging goals. Known for your high energy, you are a natural motivator with a demonstrable aptitude for your disciplined, and innovative thinking.

Work on site or off site is your preferred balance as you excel when being busy in different ways which give you a feeling of achievement at the end of each unique day.  You find engaging with others exciting and you are always the first to liaising with clients due to your exceptional communication skills. With a nurturing yet commercial approach to ideas generation, proposition development and delivery, you clearly want to deliver - for yourself, for your organisation and for your client.
You enjoy approaching things in different ways to find the best possible fit – you love making improvements and consider different approaches, trying to find the best approach to fit whatever is the current context. You are talented and strive to play an effective role in the design of complex new schemes and projects.

However, you don't just tackle these things alone. You like to engage with others and are stimulated by encouraging others to develop and grow. You relish in explaining complex ideas, helping people to 'get it', and then watch them go on and achieve more. You want nothing more but to pass on your knowledge and experience and train part of what will be the next generation of engineers.

Building and developing relationships is a key part of who you are. Overall, you get satisfaction from building relationships, with clients and with colleagues, valuing emotional capital. You have a neck for networking that would help your team to delivery efficiently and that could also prove you have an eye to spot and push for new opportunities. You enjoy getting to know people and working out how you can have a positive impact on them — whether that's delivering something that a client needs or helping someone to progress within the organization

What you will be doing

Through this role you will be working within our Nuclear and Power business in Epsom, where you will be in a unique position of being able to engage with a range of fantastic, inspirational and challenging projects. From our office in Epsom we are involved in developing innovative solutions for our clients across the UK and further afield, opportunities include new build projects like Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, Bradwell and UKAEA but also existing power generation assets such as Sizewell B and Dungeness.

Within this role you will be motivated to lead the delivery of mechanical engineering projects for nuclear and power stations at various stages of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Decommissioning (EPCC) of a plant’s lifecycle. You will love nothing but resolving a complex practical, technical and commercial challenge as you will be able to showcase your ability to assess topics and take and justify decisions that find the appropriate balance between safety, cost, schedule and quality while using your influencing skills on projects and programmes or work directly for our clients embedded into their major programmes.

You will be demonstrating your practical grasp of engineering and apply critical improvements, modification or changes towards existing operating nuclear power stations

The opportunities we have are varied in size and nature and suit a range of project or roles. Through this, you’ll aspire to learn, whilst also wanting to support and work with others within our diverse multi-disciplinary teams and love showing your support towards the growth of our capabilities through building a reputation for excellence, mentoring others, supporting business development and bidding activities.
