MEP Engineer


The transport infrastructure market in Australasia is experiencing a prolonged period of unprecedented sustained government investment. This is primarily spearheaded by rail project investments along the eastern seaboard of Australia.

 

To support our business growth in Australasia, we are seeking MEP engineers (all disciplines) to join our expanding team. You will be involved in winning work, including sales and the bidding process, and delivering work once it has been won.

Experience and Skills

  • A strong academic background with a relevant degree
  • High level of technical understanding within the field of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering
  • Be able to ‘think out of the box’ and identify innovative design solutions
  • Chartered status (membership with Engineers Australia is an advantage)
  • Experience of working on major infrastructure projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead technical teams
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients
  • Good commercial understanding
  • Experience of working with the Global Design Centre (GDC) is an advantage
  • Good report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments within the region
Responsibilities 
  • Supporting the broader team on sales related meetings and activities
  • Contributing to technical aspects of bid preparation and work winning process
  • Production of technical assessments, designs and reports
  • Managing production of technical design documentation. This would include production from our GDC in India
  • Work package management including management of our internal project management processes such as Enterprise Advantage
  • Meeting cost and time targets to deliver high quality consultancy services to clients 
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external client relationships 
  • Providing support and focal point for integration of design teams from various locations particularly from the GDC.
The Individual
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role 
  • Have the ability to work to time and cost budgets 
  • Have excellent communications skills 
  • Possess willingness to work with clients and their project teams 
  • Have a reliable and responsible attitude, pay attention to detail and have a flexible approach to achieve the best outcomes 
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and input to activities in support of the wider business objectives that may draw upon skills in addition to those outlined above 
  • Be keen to develop their career
