Within the oil and gas division, our operations focus on fixed and floating offshore structures, terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants and subsea pipelines. What you’ll be doing and where you’ll be based
We have opportunities for graduates within the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind division in the UK. From a Mechanical Engineering related background, you could be working in one of the following teams, here’s a little about what they do;
Aberdeen – Focusing on projects primarily in the Oil & Gas market you could be involved in; working with North Sea operators in supporting them in their brownfield modification projects and/or operational support work in their daily production. This is a dynamic environment ensuring that code requirements, production efficiency and safe operations are maintained using innovative approaches to assets which, in some cases are 40 years old, operating efficiently and safely pushing your knowledge and capability to the full extent.
Bristol - Based in our Bristol office, you will find yourself working on projects in the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind market as part of the offshore structures team and be involved in multi-disciplinary design projects across our Energy sectors. In Bristol you will, among other things, assist in the assessment of fatigue and reliability of structures, analysis for major modifications and life extension of existing structures and process plant and use software tools such as Mathcad, Python, Excel and various Finite Element packages. By joining Bristol you will become part of a global team located in North America, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK. There may also be the opportunity for occasional site-based work on offshore Oil & Gas platforms in the North Sea, if this is something that excites you.
Epsom – You will find yourself working on projects in a wide array of industries, with a focus on Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. Some of our recent projects include Prelude FLNG and Kincardine Offshore Wind Farm. We also provide analysis to support large infrastructure projects; notable examples include the Thames Tideway storm tunnel system and the Doha Metro rapid transit system in Qatar. We’re looking for candidates who have a strong aptitude for fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
London - Based in our London office as a Mechanical engineer, you will find yourself working on projects in the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets carrying out assessments of existing structures, including modifications and repairs, as well as design and assessment for new build projects. Some of our recent projects include Repsol UK Structural Integrity Management (SIM), Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm and the Yme Field Redevelopment. There may also be the opportunity for occasional site-based work on offshore Oil & Gas platforms in the North Sea, if this is something that excites you. We’re looking for candidates who have a keen interest in offshore structures and a desire to work with software tools such as Mathcad, Python, Excel and various Finite Element packages.
Glasgow – Based in our Glasgow or Bellshill office you’ll find yourself working primarily on projects in the Offshore Engineering and Power Generation markets. Some of our current projects include Asset Integrity work for BP and Repsol in the North Sea, Structural Design for the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm and Mechanical Integrity assessments for Power Stations in the UK and overseas. We’re looking for candidates who have a keen interest in assessing integrity of aging plant, performing structural & mechanical design and analysis.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a talented graduate with a minimum 2.2 Masters/MEng degree in a relevant Mechanical Engineering degree discipline.
You’ll have ambition, vision, enthusiasm and the drive to keep on developing your technical skills and achieve Chartered status. With a passion for working in a consultancy environment, you’ll want to work with customers and with teams who deliver to their customers and you’ll be adaptable and happy to cope with uncertainty. Communication and team-working will be your key skills as well as having the ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions.
