Project Assistant - Utilities Solutions - Bristol

Atkins Utility Solutions Practice are looking to appoint a Project Assistant into their team in Bristol. The role will involve providing support to projects running across the Practice. The role offers a great opportunity for someone to further develop their project and/or finance support experience within a dynamic and successful team.

The Utilities Solutions Practice provide a range of utilities related products and services to a wide variety of clients, including public sector organisations, developers, contractors and consultancies.



Responsibilities

• Logging and monitoring client status information, e.g. credit check information, debt, late payments
• Checking monthly credit card spend logs
• Coordination and management of supplier payments, i.e. BACS, credit card
• Chasing unpaid invoices and reviewing aged debt when required, in liaison with finance department
• Checking and paying supplier invoices as required
• Support the Senior Project Assistant with inbox management of the team mailbox
• Preparing and checking invoices, credit notes and internal journals
• Support audits and quality assurance of work within the Project Support team, reporting findings to the Team Leader
• Set up of new customers within company financial systems
• Utility plan ordering and chasing
• Assist with monthly/weekly reporting where needed
• Support the smooth running of departmental SharePoint site, by managing access requests and permission groups, as well as providing first level technical support
• Continued liaison with other teams/clients/suppliers/utility companies to resolve issues and build relationships
• To be a competent user of the various systems / databases utilised within the Practice
• General administration, filing, scanning and data input
• To assist Team Leader/Senior Project Assistant with any staff training


Requirements

• Computer literate, particularly in MS Office
• Experience in a previous finance or project related role
• Educated to GCSE/”O” level standard or equivalent
• Ability to identify, analyse, prioritise and resolve problems
• Conscientious, attentive to detail and organised
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiastic, able to adopt a flexible approach to varying workload and conflicting demands
• Ability to manage time and prioritise workload effectively


Desirable Criteria

• Experience in a NRSWA/Utility Company environment
• Knowledge of GIS systems
• Full clean driving licence.
