Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking an Project Engineer to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Job Summary

 

The Project Engineer will provide Project Management support for the UPO Federal Project Directors (FPDs) and Deputy FPDs with the main focus on support for completing the UPF Salvage & Accountability Building (SAB), Main Processing Building (MDB), the Process Support Facilities Subprojects (PSF) as well as the Y-12 Fire Station Project and Y-12 Emergency Operations Center Project.

 

Job Responsibilities

Plans, analyses, reports, briefings, meeting minutes, and other deliverables for projects as directed by the FPDs and Deputy FPDs.

 

Managing the Integrated Project Team.

 

Coordinating stakeholder interfaces.

 

Supporting UPO functional leads in oversight of the M&D contractor and NNSA Direct partners, and documenting the results in awareness activity and assessment reports.

 

Analyzing cost, schedule, procurement, and construction data to verify project status; and documenting the information to the FPD in routine reports and correspondence.


Planning, coordinating, and drafting presentation materials for stakeholder interactions.

 

Facilitating project specific meetings in the FPD's absence.

 

 




EDUCATION

Possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, physical science, business administration, accounting, or finance field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

15 years of experience in Government Contracting, DOE preferred

10 years of experience in managing complex interfaces during construction

Familiarity with DOE construction project oversight; including Earned Value Management Systems(EVMS), cost estimating, scenario analysis, construction and schedule methods, or NQA-1 quality assurance.

Prior project management or project management support experience, preferably with Department of Energy construction projects.

Must be able to interface with government program representatives on high-level technical and project issues

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

Possess planning, organizational, and analytical skills

Ability to multi--task between changing requirements and priorities

Flexible working occasional unscheduled or extended working hours
