Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Safeguards and Security Specialist to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

JOB DUTIES/TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the NMC&A Manager in the development of NMC&A programs, administering NMC&A policies and procedures, and performing internal self-assessments

 

Assists the NMC&A Manager in providing regulatory and policy guidance relative to NMC&A.

 

Assists the NMC&A Manager in development and revision of NMC&A plans and procedures.

 

Acts on behalf of the NMC&A Manager in his/her absence.

 

Assists the NMC&A Manager in the performance of special nuclear material (SNM) accounting functions, manages inventory, and reconciling inventory activities in a timely manner in accordance with the approved NMC&A Plan.

 

Serves as the Alternate Classification Officer, assisting the Classification Officer in the management of the Classified Matter Protection and Control Program and the Unclassified Controlled Information Program. Conducts training for Derivative Classifiers and Reviewing Officials.

 

Serves as the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Officer and as an Inquiry Official for Incidents of Security Concern.

 

Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in security-related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in safeguards and security

Detailed knowledge of DOE NMC&A requirements as defined in DOE orders, manuals, and standards.

REQUIRED AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Familiarity with nuclear materials controls including but not limited to surveillance, access, inventory sampling, and monitoring.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Strong communication, verbal and written skills.


Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes.
