Reporting to the Manager, Security Services, the Security Advisor supports day to day operations for implementation of the security programs and obligations. The Security Advisor provide assistance with the processing of government of Canada security clearance under the contract security program, ensure the access controls for the Physical Security System is made current on a day-to-day basis. Other responsibilities include walkdown of the NU facilities, and administering the process for Projects (client), contractors and consultants and applicable external security departments (provincial or federal). 

Location - Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Serve as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO in relation to the Designated Organization Screening and Facility Security Clearance with the Government of Canada.
• Provide assistance with the processing of government of Canada personnel security clearance under the contract security program.
• Provide physical and personnel security support by assisting with physical security controls (i.e. guards and access control).
• Assist in the evaluation of security posture for the continuous protection of personnel, buildings, and assets including creating, modifying, and deleting access control cards.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with business operations to enable effective physical security policies, procedures, and support.
• Provide support to the operations by processing and managing Security Clearance for all staff and/or contractors based on company and project needs.
• Completion of any required Company Security Officer (CSO) certifications and/or training.

The ideal candidate:

• Completion of College or Technical training in a related field considered an asset.
• 4+ years of experience in a security-related field (access control or CCTV operations, or other relevant experience) or GIC industrial security program preferred.
• Experience in an administrative / customer services role would be an asset
• Experience as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) and processing of security clearance applications
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to converse with all levels of management and liaise with the government.
• Efficient in prioritizing workloads and multi-tasking to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Level II (SECRET) clearance with the Government of Canada.
