Senior/Associate Fire Engineers

  1. Cities & development

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We are currently experiencing high levels of success - winning works on projects of national and international importance.

The Fire Engineering Team within our Infrastructure business are looking to recruit several Senior and Associate Fire Engineers to help us deliver these critical projects.

Infrastructure forms one of the main centres of gravity of Fire Engineering within Atkins and our fire engineers have the opportunity to work on projects ranging from the UK’s nuclear new build programme through transportation projects (road, rail and airports), defence and major mixed-use developments – both in the UK and abroad. Just some of our recent projects include:

• Hinckley ‘C’ – supporting the design of the building infrastructure through to Generic Design Assessment (GDA);
• Crossrail (Farringdon station);
• Riyadh Metro;
• Bond Street Station Upgrade;
• London City Airport;
• Docklands Light Railway – ‘New Train for Docklands’ programme;
• Doha Metro;
• Dubai Opera House.

We require Fire Engineers who are enthusiastic about being able to offer their contribution to infrastructure projects of national and international importance, with the flexibility to apply their skills and experience to projects in any of Atkins key target areas (infrastructure, defence, education, mixed-use development and energy). We need people willing to work outside their comfort zone and who are able to contribute to designs that must achieve world-class levels of safety, innovation and constructability.

You should have experience of the development of fire strategies and / or fire protection designs to either British, European or NFPA standards at a level commensurate with the grade for which they are applying. Experience in complex environments such as road and rail tunnels, railway stations and airports would be particularly attractive.

Whilst opportunities exist in all areas, following several major project wins we are particularly interested in fire engineers who have experience relevant to the UK rail network (both mainline and metro) and can offer such people the chance to work on a number of exciting projects that range from those currently in the early stages of design through to those under construction. We would also be interested in excellent candidates with relevant skills and experience from other industry sectors who wish to expand their portfolio to include the growth area of railways.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.

If applying to this role please do not make reference to (in conversation) or include in your application or CV,  details of any current or previously held security clearance.
