Senior Engineer - Wastewater Modelling - Glasgow

We seek to appoint a Senior Wastewater Modelling Engineer to our Networks and Drainage Infrastructure business in Glasgow. The successful candidate should have appropriate professional qualifications, be degree qualified and proven experience of Infoworks CS / ICM including the following:

• Model Build and Verification – creating robust sewer network models that are suitable for analysis and solution development
• Model Maintenance –updating models and improving them with a focus on specific study drivers
• Hydraulic and Water Quality Analysis – intelligent assessment of catchment hydraulics and pollutant sources to identify needs and risks
• Manhole, CCTV and Flow Surveys – experience of scoping and managing these surveys
• Integrated Catchment Modelling – constructing models for considering interaction between sewers (storm and foul), watercourses and overland flows
• Operational Data – Ability to assess operational data
• Solution Development – development of outline designs, and support through detailed design process
• Technical Leadership – providing direction and advice to more junior staff including check and review of work carried out by others.


Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

• Assume Technical Lead role on projects to ensure Atkins delivers smarter, faster & more reliable outcomes for its clients
• Construction and verification of wastewater models to investigate flood risk and flood mechanisms and develop outline solutions
• Planning and monitoring of site asset surveys for physical and condition assessments
• Checking and reviewing of modelling work undertaken by others.
• Preparing technical reports and other project deliverables and presenting these to clients and stakeholders
• Mentoring of junior staff
• Work in collaboration with the Atkins Global Design Centre in India to successfully deliver projects

Business Responsibilities

• Actively encourage the integration and use of the Atkins Global Design Centre in India
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and policies
• Work with Programme Managers, Project Managers and other Technical Leads to develop proposals for additional work
